Organization of educational process at secondary schools on propaganda of effective usage of energy supply
Project goals and objectives:
The primary goal of the project is to secure the reduction of energy resources consumption in secondary school sector, as well as, to search for innovative forms and methods to cultivate conscious energy efficient behavior among schoolchildren.
Expected outcomes:
? on a country-wide scale, the teaching activities to educate secondary schoolchildren with regard to energy efficiency have taken a systematic nature and improved in quality thus providing the sustainability of the project;
? secondary school teachers have exchanged their experience and familiarized themselves with the best practice in teaching and educational activities, as well as, energy conservation educational guides;
? the most effective forms of energy saving promotion at secondary schools have been identified;
? on a country-wide scale, at least 20%-reduction of energy consumption has been achieved in secondary school sector. The saved funds have been used to satisfy other urgent needs of secondary schools;
? by the most conservative estimations, the GHG emissions to be reduced by 60 000 tones (in CO2 equivalent);
? more than 100 000 schoolchildren have taken part in search for new ideas and ways of energy saving, and become active champions of energy conscious behavior;
? in the course of the country-wide contest (Energy Marathon ? 2008) the most innovative projects have been selected as potential candidates to apply for financing under the GEF Small Grants Programme
