Rainwater Harvesting for Welverdiend Schools in the Kruger to Canyon Biosphere (K2C) in the Mpumalanga Province ? South Africa
Awareness raising and educational project on Rainwater Harvesting, linking it with climate change. The tools to be used are among others: theatre; rainwater harvesting booklet and toolkits on natural resource management and on monitoring and evaluation. The project will focus in Mpumalanga on four Schools in the area of Welverdiend in Bushbuckridge.
The project will also see to the erection of rainwater tanks (cisterns) which will provide water for consumption at the schools and also for the vegetable garden programme. Bush Resources has been responsible for organic gardening in the area thruogh the Food and Trees for Africa Programme, by way of giving co-ordination and logistical support. This project will furthermore link to the Tipfuxeni Women's Empawerment Group which is responsible for implementating a number of projects in the area through the support of Bush Resources.
