Project Characteristics and Results
Capacity - Building Component
All facilities including technical know how etc. will be provide by the organisation and the involved communities inn the project would look after the planted lac host plants for creating self-confidence among them. After 1 or 2 years the beneficiaries will start lac seed in free of cost to the farmers. There have been 16 training programmes that have been organized for educating farmers on lac host plantations.
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
The activities of the implemented project will be very cheap, ecofriendly, having no risk to the environment. The lac cultivation has shown promising results for forest conservation. It would be sustainable because it is linked with income and employment generation simultaneously with honey production.
