Project Characteristics and Results
Capacity - Building Component
As youth groups interested in env'tal activities, they have very little exp both interms of org'n & tec'cal aspects. In order to overcome this problem, the NGO (ORDA) & the local tec'cal gov't offices have agreed to give the required support to the youth to enable them to undertake the project effectively. Training to community members and youth will be given and also experience sharing visit is also incorporated in this project.
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
As youth groups, they have wide contact with the community in the whole woreda, zonal & regional gov't offices. This creates an opportunity for them to discuss about global env't issues at all levels. As the area is very important in terms of flora and fauna, it has high significance in bringing awarness to the community in four of the SGP focal areas (BD, LD, CC, IW).
