Community approach for sustainable livelihood through Biodiversity conservation in tribal areas of southern Orissa
This project has been developed by keeping the following goals in mind:
?undertake research to understand and regenerate indigenous tribal systems and practices of conservation and cultivation.
?enable and ensure tribal women?s participation in the research and documentation, so as to develop and understand the relationship between tribal women and common property resources.
? scale up and replicate the successful activities to other neighbouring villages for livelihood generation of the tribals and protection of ecosystem and environment of the locality.
? improve the local traditional practices and to invoke innovative ideas for ensuring sustainable livelihood of the tribals.
?Encourage tribal communities, especially women to undertake constructive and systematic steps to rebuild their ecosystems for a sustainable livelihood, by combining indigenous knowledge systems and traditional practices with contemporary information and technology, with special emphasis on effective management and conservation of common land resources.
?Help tribal communities learn from each other through sharing and networking.
?Developing a knowledge base of current best practices, and traditional systems

(PIA). The beneficiaries have contributed in shape of lab our. Agragamee has contributed in shape of cash from the partner donors in preparation of irrigation projects, establishment of night schools in some villages, electrification through solar energy and micro hydel projects , setting up some income generation programmes , marketing linkages, organizing framers conversion etc.

As the NGO seeks to reduce the dependency on the Forest for Livelihood purposes itself influences the policy impact.
