Awareness campaign on batteries' hazards and management project
I. OBJECTIVES

Conservation of natural resources (International water, Underground water, Soil and Biodiversity) through raising awareness of the civil society on hazards of batteries in polluting natural resources. The project aims at building the capacities of the communities and planning for sorting, collection and exporting batteries.


II. ACTIVITIES

? Organizing media campaign for project launching.
? Organizing awareness seminars on batteries Environmental and health hazards and appropriate measures to manage them.
? Conduct awareness seminars in schools and municipalities.
? Conduct studies in cooperation with specialized local and international bodies to specify the legal and scientific approaches to manage Batteries problems. These studies will be conducted in cooperation with concerned Governmental and European bodies.
? Specify the appropriate technologies for the local communities to manage batteries problem.
? Networking with the international community (especially European specialized bodies) to find the scientific and radical solution for the batteries problems and exchange expertise with them through field visits.
? Conduct workshops for activists in the communities on reducing the usage of batteries and finding alternatives.
? Production of awareness material (brochures, Stickers) on environmental and health hazards of batteries and its proper management.
? Reporting to SGP on project progress.
