Study and evaluation of white-lipped peccaries (Tayassu pecari) for definition of the current situation and whether hunting of this species is sustainable.
The project aims at uniting traditional Xavante knowledge with scientific management techniques. Capacity-building for indigenous community members is planned in capture, handling and monitoring of peccaries, as well as dissemination of results.
