Shallow Well Construction in Kyebisagazi Parish
The purpose of the project is to improve the conservation of Kyebisagazi wetland in Rakai district by covering the pits that have been dug by community members in search of water. The project will also construct 8 shallow wells and drinking troughs for livestock to provide clean water for domestic consumption and for livestock. The project will increase access to clean water for 300 households in Kyebisagazi Parish.

Community members have been trained in water and sanitation, and in maintenance and repair of the shallow wells.
Notable Community Participation
Seven Water User Committees consisting of community members are involved in cleaning the area around the shallow wells. In addition, community members are contributing a money for the maintenance of the shallow wells.
