EMPOWERMENT OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY IN
NAYBANDAN WILDLIFE REFUGE AND TABAS CITY
in collaboration with GEF CACP (Conservation of Asiatic Cheetah Project)
Project Location: Aliabaad, Tabas Project location:(Lat/Long:.32.790661-.57.760620)
- In partnership with GEF CACP (Conservation of Asiatic Cheetah Project) this project through participatory work will engage the local community members and the Local Environment Guards of DOE in Naybandan and Tabas as one of the major habitats of the Asiatic Cheetah in Iran.
- Project grantee, the local community members and Environmetal Guards will participate in participatory trainings on Action Research, Participatory M&E and Indicator Development and stakeholder analysis.
- Project Core Active Group will form through the above trainings.
- Local active groups will be established to participate in project and livelihood activities.
- Literature on participatory approaches of the project will be published in a booklet form.
- A booklet and short film on lessons learned will published and produced.
- A quarterly project newsletter will be produced in addition to a yearly Asiatic Cheetah Cluster Newsletter. Close cooperation between SGP Cheetah projects and building on each others learning and experience will be promoted.
- Policy dialogue with stakeholders will take place through SGP Wildlife Theme Group and Asiatic Cheetah Cluster using power points, film and literature produced.
