Arrangement of the International Birds Day. (Popularization of biodiversity conservation ideas through involvement of the youth and schoolchildren in 3 big areas of the Eastern Kazakhstan to the wild nature protecting activities)
The approach to environmental problems solving should be implemented in a complex manner. The young generation could keep the natural heritage only in case they have enough environmental knowledge.
Project aim:
The project presumes popularization of biodiversity conservation ideas
Project tasks:
- Involvement of the youth and schoolchildren to the wild nature protecting activities
- Holding a festival devoted to the International Bird Day at 3 big areas of the Eastern Kazakhstan in coorptation with ABCK
- Arrangement of the drawing and composing competition, covering the action broadly through the mass media, nominating the best works for the ?Bird of the Year? and the ?Animal of the Year?
Project results:
The activities devoted to International Birds day help young people to learn more about the world of birds of the region. Arrangement of festival devoted to the International Birds Day all over Kazakhstan at the same time becomes the first effective step in this direction. Annual nominating on a rank of the Bird of Year, the Animal of Year draw young people?s attention to preservation of the birds of the area. These actions promote initiative of ecological school clubs, circles, NGOs, state educational departments, etc.

Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
To promote population awareness raising about the biodiversity of the area (rare and endemic birds, in particular) a wide information campaign in 3 big cities of the area arranged: a poster published and widely distributed among schools, universities; a festival devoted to the International Birds Day arranged; drawing and composing tournaments arranged among children; the activities highlited in massmedia.
