At the moment there are no complex ecotourism development programs in Kazakhstan, in spite of the fact that the country has enough resources and potential to that. For the past 5 years 10 NGOs with cooperation of international donor organizations have been implementing pilot projects on development of ecological tourism. At the same time, there are still problems interfering of projects in ecological tourism development, based on rural communities. Such aspects as lack of the state programs and projects, poor legislation, poor local community and tourism companies? awareness about principles, resources and potential of ecological tourism development lead to uncontrollable tourism, which is the most adverse for environment. Locally the problem is aggravated with poor tourists awareness about the generated routes, parking, services, resources that the Natural Protection Area can offer for them; lack of information the tourist companies have about eco-sites activity, opportunities of the local communities could be involved into ecotourism, potential of ecological tourism, in principle. Besides, Eco-sites and Tour-operators are poor aware about the mechanisms of cooperation with tourist companies.

Project aim:
Public and tourists informing about the issues of sustainable biodiversity use in the sphere of tourism, and also about possibilities for environmental tourism development through cooperation with Eco-sites and State Nature Protected Areas.

Project tasks:
- Arrange informational ecological tour to promote ecotourist products at the national and international level
- Widely covering in mass-media of the ecotour eco-sites and the State Nature Protected Areas activities
- Demonstration on the National TV of Japan direct transmission about the resources of the Kolasy National Park and services (ethnic show)

Project results:
- Information of tourist companies about 7 existed eco-sites result in 5 Almaty tour agencies will include the ecotours in the tourist packages
- Ecosites expanded institutional relations in ecotourism sphere
- Highlighting of the Natural Protected Areas and eco-sites ecotourism activities in mass-media promoted raising their image and development of internal tourism and at the same time promoted ecological culture development
- At least 5 articles published in mass-media
- Direct transmission about the eco-sights of Kazakhstan through Japanese Public Broadcasting Company promoted raising image of Kazakhstan at the international level
