Community-based Sustainable Reef Fishery to Build Resilience in Adaptation to Climate Change
Project Development Goal:
Healthy and sustainable management of coral reef ecosystem to improve local ornamental and reef food fishermen's livelihood and local economic diversification in Donggala District, Central Sulawesi
Project Objectives:
1. to restore the health of coral reef habitat
2. to put in place sustainable ornamental and food fisher
3. to improve people's livelihood and economic resilience though eco-trading and micro-enterprises
4. to improve the awareness and knowledge of local people in management of coral reef ecosystem
5. to expand and replicate the success stories of LES and Serangan villages in Bali.
Expected Outputs:
1. A reach -out model of community-based coral reef management and sustainable fishery which is able to restore the condition of the coral reef
2. An institutionalized supply and trade network of marine ornamental, connected to LES and serangan, Bali outfits
3. A formulation of success indicators of coral reef management
4. Improved capacity of local people in coral reef management
5. Alternative or additional livelihood for ornamental fisher community
