?ASIATIC CHEETAH FUND FOR LOCAL CBOs FORMED IN NAYBANDAN VILLAGES IN TABAS?

Project Background:
Four local women and men groups of volunteers were formed for collaboration in conservation and livelihood activities under GEF SGP Project ?Empowerment of the Local Community in Naybandan Wildlife Refuge and Tabas City? No. IRA/SGP/OP4/RAF/07/02 (93). In the stakeholder workshop of Naybandan Tabas GEF SGP project in Nov 2009 all the local community active members from both Tabas-Nayband and Touran Areas participated and reviewed their livelihood initiatives in the conservation context. The result was to support the local groups to support the local initiatives by GEF SGP and the UNDP project continuing the work of terminated CPAP project.

The project outputs and activities are:
? Publish second edition of Naybandan Wildlife Habitat Booklet which was previously compiled and published by the grantee-$3000
? Local communities in four villages in the form of local cooperatives have been established during the implementation of GEF SGP Project ?Empowerment of the Local Community in Naybandan Wildlife Refuge and Tabas City? No. IRA/SGP/OP4/RAF/07/02 (93), from the total grant allocated $4000 will be granted to the following 4 local cooperatives for livelihood funds:
i. Local cooperative of Sabzpooshane Nakhl Kousar Naybandan-$1000
ii. Local cooperative of Negargerane Sabz Peykoo-$1000
iii. Local cooperative of Toseyeh Peykoo-$1000
iv. Local cooperative of Pouyeshgerane Kavire Faholanj-$1000
