Strengthening Water Governance Through Community River Water Management
The Likii and Nanyuki River Water Users' Associations will work with various stakeholders to initiative a river basin management plan. They will also initiate a project that will reduce foreign pollutants from getting into the water courses. These include agricultural, domestic and brewing waste and promote conservation activities along the riparian.

The project will institute proper governance in initiating water abstraction and its conservation.

Project Characteristics and Results
Capacity - Building Component
The capacity of the Likii and Nanyuki River Water Users Associations will be increased by imparting resource and financial management skills allowing the Associations to participate in water governance issues in conjunction with the Water Resources Management Authority of the Kenyan Government.
Project sustainability
The project will ensure that water resources within the Likii and Nanyuki subcatchments are sustainably managed through community self-governance. The project will also ensure that all water users have equitable access to water and that water flows/levels necessary for wildlife and the environmental are preserved.
