Improving Environmental Conditions in and around Keenjhar Lake
Keenjhar Lake is famous around the world due to its reservoir capacity, aquatic life, historical standing and cultural diversity. The Lake is situated in Thatta District, once the capital of Sindh, at a distance of 25 kilometers from Thatta City and 110 kilometers from Karachi. The lake, one of the Ramsar Sites, is facing with several issues related to environment including degeneration of green belts, solid waste deposition by tourists, depletion of fish resources due to algae grass in large quantities, land encroachments which eventually contribute to environmental degradation.
