Integrated Water Resources Management for Socio-economic Development and Sustainable Livelihoods of Tungu Kabiri Community
This phase 2 grant to Tungu-Kabiri micro-hydro project caters for water resource management for development of sustainable livelihoods of the Tungu Kabiri Community. The project will construct a water supply and distribution system to provide a more accessible supply of water for domestic, livestock, and agricultural uses for the community. The project will encourage efficient use of water resources through promotion of drip irrigation systems and creation of a water users association which will also enhance the protection of the watershed.

Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
The project has constructed a water supply system that will bring a reliable supply of water for domestic, livestock, and agricultural uses. This was combined with the introduction of drip irrigation technology which allows agricultural production with a high level of water use efficiency.
Capacity - Building Component
The project has established and strengthened a water users association, which will allow the community to sustainably manage their water resources.
