Rehabilitation of degraded fields in forest and integration of Community Forest Association in Mt. Kenya Forest conservation.
The project will identify suitable degraded sites for rehabilitation and tree planting within the Mt. Kenya Forest Reserve. They hope to plant 150, 000 seedlings annually. In addition, the project will construct 8 fish ponds and establish a fish farm. They will also raise pigs whose waste will be used as supplemental feed fro the fish.
The CBO comprises of former forest loggers, marijuana producers and other local residents who have teamed up to raise seedlings and rehabilitate parts of the forest degraded by non-resident cultivators in the last decade.
