Tarime environmental conservation project
The project main purpose is to minimize soil erosion and steer against deforestation so as to ehance sustainable livelihood and environment conservation. The project will cover for villages of Karuya, Nyanchabakenya, Marasibora and Kukona/Kwibuse respectively in Tarime District, Mara Region. In the Mara River Basin natural resources including land, forest, game and water (groundwater as well as surface water water) in the river basin are being managed in unstastainable manner, thus leading to natural resources depletion and consequently environmental degradation in the river basin.
