The southern belt of Terai in Bara district is firewood deficient area hence efforts have been made to increase the firewood availability or to reduce firewood consumption. During the project period, project has supported to install 300 improved cookstove and 1 biobriquette making initiative. Likewise, 4 private agroforestry groups having 80 members mainly from the lower caste and 2 public agroforestry groups having 40 members from lower caste have been formed. 3 hectares of waste public land have been identified for public agroforestry, which has been equally distributed to the 40 farmers. Cumulatively 191 mango trees and 371 other species of trees have been planted in these land. Agro forestry model is suitable in these land as the trees provide firewood and agro product mainly vegetable provide steady income to the farmers. During the second year of project, the farmers have earned an average of USD300 by selling vegetables.

A river training activity, which comprises construction of100m long stone and vegetative check dam in Bhulahi Verwalia VDC has saved 152 household from being displaced. Earlier the river has displaced 15 households from the village.

School garden programs have also been successful. With the support from teacher and school students, 4 such gardens have been constructed. This has attracted and increased students enrollment in the school. During the project period, 275 more students have joined the schools.
