The NGO has started to link to other partners, including INDIAN OIL, SRTT Mumbai and MP Funds through Lata Mangeshkar. Nearly, Rs 14 lacs has been garnered as co financing in the project

The program has been given an identity as ?COMMUNITY ENTERPRISE for SWMgt ?. --Using a more participatory approach in the program, the base line has been developed in each of the 2 areas identified. --In each of these RWAs the office bearers within the communities have been participatorily selected as members in monitoring the programs and although the titles have been given, the idea is more of social audit of the program. --A systemic functional set up has been made within the project by the institution. More than 30 meetings, seminars, workshops have been organized in the program in each of the three areas since the last one year. Small street plays, formation and strengthening of RWAs, involvement of colleges, schools, clean drives etc have been done in each of the three areas. --Nearly 80 % of the communities have started payments for the collection of the waste from their premises. The collection charges vary from place to place and are slowing beginning to take place on monthly basis from Rs5 to Rs12 per household/premises. --Different buckets etc have been linked for segregation at source of garbage at the respective households. The project has also used to develop the hand carts fopr collection, segregation of the waste. The segregated waste is now being processed into organic manure through vermin composting. --The project is presently having the organized rag pickers and they are nearly managing 2-3 MTs of waste daily, ie nearly more than 680 MTs per annum. Although a small quantity is being composted, most of it is going to the land fills. The efforts are to make the progress into more recycling for global environment benefits. -- The MC and other related stakeholders are coming forward in sharing costs and responsibilities in the program. --The working conditions both at the common dump sites and of the rag pickers have improved vastly through the trainings and exposure visits. -- A paper recycling unit is being set up through the women groups and also a plastic recycling unit is being set up to process the segregated paper and plastic wastes. -- More innovative practices of insurance, community contributions both in sharing costs and responsibilities is being practiced. A vermin composting unit has been installed it has started working on commercial basis. The NGO has established linkages with various temple authorities and has been helping them in composting there floral waste which was earlier being dumped into river Yamuna.

The project has found livelihood for 50 disintegrated ragpicker families.

Women are being provided vocational training in making baskets, bowls and other crafts.
