Most of the people are engaged with activities to develop their economy and livelihood without giving proper consideration to the environment. Thus that negligence has made significant damages to the environment. We are going to encourage them and introduce proper ways and alternatives to build up their economy through commercial farming and reducing of Persistent Organic Pollutants by control of exposure of hazardous chemicals in the environment for sustainable development

This project has directly engaged with around 1580 people of two GN divisions who are cultivating vegetables for commercial market. They are hardly use hazard chemicals including DDT and other poison pesticides. We use people?s participating approach to collect and analyze data. Awareness creation initiatives collaborated with University of Colombo, Government agencies and officials of the area.
