Extension of SRL/03/34 Riverbank Conservation of Ravan Oya by Integrated Environment Organization
This grant is to extend Integrated Environment Organization's work in conserving the riverbank of Ravan Oya by planting trees along the bank and constructing gabion walls to minimize soil erosion. Gabion walls will be designed by experienced technical officers who will advise the NGO on the installation. The community will assist in the installation and maintenance of the structures. The idea is to grow clinging creepers on the structures so that they will give the appearance of a natural bank.
