Restocking of Giant Clams and Marine Conservation at Salimu Village, Faga Savaii Island
This project directly benefits our village communities as well as neighboring villages by establishing the fish reserve and restocking of giant clams. Our reef will enhance with the abundance of giant clams and the fish stocks increase from time to time. Our fish reserve is the breeding area for inshore species and provides shelter and food for other marine animals. The proposed project will improve our community skills and understanding on various fisheries management measures, provide educational programs on the importance of marine conservation and farming of giant clams.
