Ndurumo Hydro Electricity Power Project - Kathita River, Imenti North
The project ia a community initiated project aimed at supplying electricity to the same community from a micro-hydro project along Kathita River, for domestic consumption. The project will avail affordable clean energy to 300 households and ten institutions within the Lower Imenti forest area of Mt Kenya.

Capacity - Building Component
Group members will be educated on the need to rehabilitate and protect the Kathita River Water Catchment, the source of water for the micro-hydropower facility.
Gender Focus
The introduction of electricity from hydropower into the communities will reduce the amount of time spent by women collecting firewood and kerosene, allowing them more time and opportunities to engage in other activities, such as income generating activities that will improve their livelihoods.
