To aware community on environmental issues and promote community based projects for biodiversity and soil & water conservation
Objective:
? To demonstrate conservation and utilization of surface and sub-surface water and checking soil erosion through construction of water harvesting structures.
? To develop micro plan and facilitate villagers/government in better implementation of NREGA and other schemes for construction of multipurpose water harvesting structures in villages.
? To build up villagers capacity and knowledge for sustainable agriculture, production of compost and organic pest management.
Output:
People become aware on the issues of water harvesting, water conservation and soil conservation
People equipped with the techniques of suitable sustainable farming practices.
Adoption of integrated Farm Pond Technology, organic farming and soil conservation mechanism by the farmers
Ponds and water harvesting structure constructed under NREGA in project villages
Improvement in production and income of the people.
Forum of stakeholders to disseminate the results of this project and the scope of its replication.
Improvement in local employment opportunities.
Decrease in number of youths migrating.
Activities:
Base line survey of the project villages and compilation of data
Community awareness/sensitization on environment issue and biodiversity
Information dissemination to farmers and women beneficiaries on integrated farm pond, IPM, FYM, Vermin compost etc
Exposure visit of the farmers
IEC material development and distribution, wall writing on environmental issue, organic farming, soil & water conservation etc
Development of village micro plan and facilitating villagers in implementation of soil and water harvesting projects under NREGA
Demonstration and development of farm pond technology in villages

Organic farming has been started. Vermin compost has become a source of income for Indigenous people besides use in their field for good crop.
Indigenous people have attracted towards cultivation of green vegetables and fruits.
