Project Characteristics and Results
Gender Focus
350 female participants, 50 female beneficiaries and 10 females took part in the capacity building/ training organized. Women played an important role as the use of energy cakes greatly reduced air pollution n kitchens and also gives additional income from selling energy fuel products or running the center, as women are the managers of the enterprises. This has also improved their social status.
Policy Impact
The projec t received a DST- Lockheed Martin International Award for innovation 2010 organised by DST, Government of India,m Lookheed Martin, USA and FICCI. This was the winner out of 394 innovators from CSIR annd different esteemed R and D institutions from India.
