Projet de construction de 160 citernes d'eau destinés à la collecte des eaux de pluie et à la protection de l'environnement dans l'agglomération de MUSIGA-Secteur KANOMBE
The project was aiming at reducing soil erosion while improving access to water through rainwater harvesting.

Rivers in Rwanda are very polluted mainly because of soil erosion resulting from poor agricultural practices and poor rain water harvesting. The project was designed to sensitize Kanombe residents on the importance of collecting rain water from roofs while helping poor people to get water tanks.
160 concrete water tanks were supposed to be built but after the construction of 53, SGP staff and the project beneficiaries realised that their quality was not guaranteed and decided to switch to plastic tanks. Altogether 153 tanks have been installed. Negociations are being done by local authorities with banks so that households in Kanombe can get easy for acces to loans for rain water harvesting.
