Project Characteristics and Results
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
- The use of briquettes (which are less expensive than charcoal or firewood) by veterans will reduce expenses related to food cooking. Veterans are indeed a group with low income.
The project has also created jobs for women who sal municipal waste to VCRD.
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
- beneficiaries are sensitized on the environmental consequences of depending on firewood.
