The project?s purpose is the the gathering, transportation and capitalization of the recycled wraps through direct involvement of the Csomad-Balvanyos microregion local people and authorities, Concomitantly with these activities, the social aspect consists in community awareness regarding energy preserving and power efficiency, through direct involvement of community in the field activities. Owing to their involvement, the people will change their attitude regarding environmental matters and will turn into active members of the community.
Project objectives ? To promote a sustainable partnership between citizens, local authorities, NGO?s, with the purpouse to find solutions for environmental metters, to increase selective gathering of recycled wraps-offals. - To increase the level of people information regarding climate changes and selective gathering of recycled wraps-offals through: free informative materials (leaflets, booklets) + broadcasts to local TV/Radio. ? To strenghten local authorities and NGO?s capacity for co-ordination and achievement of environment protection projects and to inform local authorities and NGO?s regarding production and utilization of regenerating energy sources.

Significant Participation of Indigenous Peoples
90 locals are involved in training activities; 200 persons participate in the practical activities; 7,000 persons participate in the information activities.
Inovative Financial Mechanisms
A public ? private partnership is established between an economic operator (specialized in PET recycling), the local public administrations (responsible for waste management at community level) and NGO (the owner of the PET pressing machine). The economic operator collects the PET, compacts and then recycles them. Part of the recycled products is returned to the community.
