Project Characteristics and Results
Policy Influence
The project will create a synergy of efforts of partner Government Ministries and local Civil Society Organisations, focus its attention to opening up opportunities for schools through their involvement in agroforestry and environmental management activities.
Project sustainability
The project will encourage local Community Development Committees (CDCs) to prioritise environmental education awareness. As a result, the demonstration facilities will have the potential to generate income from the sales of their garden products and plant seedlings, contributions from parents of children attending these schools. Ultimately, sustainability depends on neighbouring communities? demand for the project?s harvest.
