Tree planting and environment conservation, Kinango and Marua Villages, Moshi
The Half mile strip area in Kirua ward is surrounded by the villages including Kanango and Marua. This position has lead to excessive destruction of the half mile strip as it faces extractive pressure from both sides. TERESODE has been working to change the situation. Since the National park is planning to take the half mile strip area it is necessary that these villages start their own woodlots which will enable them to obtain forest products without interfering the natural forest of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

PROJECT OBJECTIVE:
? Reforestation of bare areas on the slopes and valleys Kanango and Marua village

SECONDARY OBJECTIVE:
? To assist communities in tree planting and agro forest to increase community income

OUTPUT:
? Support the community to have forest products away from the half mile strip area

PROJECT ACTIVITIES:

? Transportation of the seedlings
? Awareness on tree planting
? Technical advice
? Tending activities
