LEPAJE is an NGO that involves its self with environmental issues in Kibosho ward. The group was started in 2003 and it was since then involved in tree planting campaigns.

PROJECT PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

Tree planting and construction of fuel efficient cooking stoves for the conservation of Mt. Kilimanjaro forest.

PROJECT OUTPUTS:
1. Reduction of fuel wood consumption and conservation of the environment by the local communities
2. Poverty reduction as a result of use of fuel efficient cooking stove which reduce the costs encored in the purchase of fuel wood
3. Reduce workload to women in fuel wood collection

PROJECT ACTIVITIES:
? Plant 10,000 tree seedlings
? Construction of fuel efficient cooking stoves foe schools and homestead
? Protection of the tree seedlings

PROJECT BENEFITS:

The use of fuel efficient coking stove will reduce the consumption of fuel wood and thus reduce tree cutting.
