Building the Capacity for an Effective Sustainable Development Network among CBOs and NGOs in Barbados.
This project is the first in a series of capacity development projects which will help build the capacity of BECON to manage projects under the framework policy of each one help another. The project objectives are to:

(i) build the capacity of NGOs and CBOs in managing their organisations for maximum impact;
(ii) establish a forum for the sharing of ideas and lessons learned; and
(iii) inform and educate the various publics about environmental issues through the framework of the
GEF Focal Areas.

The proejct has four activities as follows: Internal and external presentations and discussions; learning tours; training in areas of weakness; and public awareness.

By the end of the project we expect to have a vibrant group with teh capacity to serve as a learning network for groups undertaking environment and sustainable development projects.
