Project Development Goals:

To protect root vegetables in the slope of Mount Merapi by Tourism Village Women Group

Project Development Objectives:

Women community in Petung and Pentingsari Tourism Village will manage root vegetables


Expected Outputs:
1. Women community in 2 tourism villages located at slope of Mount Merapi will able to manage various root vegetables in lie with local tourism village management.
2. Established cultivation and utilization activities of root vegetables in 2 tourism villages located at the slope of Mount Merapi
3. Garden and root vegetables products will be the characteristic to attract tourists in 2 tourism villages where the management can be replicated by women community in other tourism village located at the slope of Mount Merapi
4. Increased of knowledge and skill of members from 2 women communities in 2 tourism villages in terms of cultivation, processing, and packaging root vegetable products that can be consumed by tourists.

Activities to be conducted:
1. Socialization, Coordination, and Assisting
2. Strengthening Organization Skill and Capacity
a. Workshop in root vegetables potency mapping
b. Community organizational training
3. Garden Management
a. Providing root vegetable seeds
b. Planting and Nursing of root vegetables garden
c. Training on root vegetables processing technique
d. Root vegetables packaging training
4. Managing ?Root Vegetables Learning Center? for trading purposes of root vegetables and information service for tourists.
5. Documentation and Information
a. Establishing documentation in form of root vegetable booklet in the slope of Mount Merapi to be distributed to tourists.
b. Establishing documentation of women group activities in conserving root vegetables, both printed and audiovisual
c. Screening of documentation result with local stakeholders

Project Participants and/or beneficiaries:
1. Direct : 2 women groups in 2 villages, @ 30 people
2. Indirect : community in 2 tourism villages, @ 125 Household
