Awareness Raising and Conservation Activities for Lucanus cervus akbesianus
The project is about raising awareness re. Lucanus cervus akbesianus, an endemic insect species for Akbez region in Iskenderun. The insect is feared in the region and is killed at sight, while it is a very important part of the ecosystem and is regarded highly in the scientific community as well as by some cultures such as Japan. The project will try to raise the awareness of the local people re. the insect and through that help conservation of the species.
