Banaspati Gueetha Resource Center Network Nepal
Bio-briquette has become one of the proven alternative energy technologies in Nepal. The realization that valuable information and knowledge in the bio-briquette sector is not available and whatever is available is not very accessible or shared among its stakeholders, thus limiting the effectiveness of the sector. This was the starting point for several activities to find out how the existing information and knowledge flows in the sectors, how this problem can be resolved and identify if there is existing support or interest for the establishment of a bio-briquette Resource Center.
Currently, there are number of organizations like Federation of Community Forestry Users Group (FECOFUN), ICIMOD, Livelihood and Forestry Project (LFP), CECI IDS/Nepal, etc. that are supporting the promotion and use of the bio- briquette. The project seeks to develop the loose network of the existing and potential partners to develop the established resource center network so that the scattered information, knowledge and experience of these partners and the users could be collected and disseminated properly for the greater benefit of all stakeholders.
