Combating desertification and improving green cover at Fakeha AlAin Village
Combating desertification and improving green cover at Fakeha AlAin Village
Combating Desertification and improving green cover at North Bekaa area. Zeboud is part of the marginalized villages in North Bekaa. The village was well known for its rich biodiversity. Before the nineties the agricultural lands were mostly used for planting opium. Since the abolition of this cultivation, the inhabitants have been suffering from poverty. The area lacks income generating projects. Since that time people started to cut trees in the forest for fuel wood and grazing. The Project aims at combating desertification. The re-greening process will be achieved through 4 main activities:
1. planting forage trees
2. planting forest trees
3. planting fruit trees
4. planting forage herbs.

By achieving these objectives, the shepherd will have more forage. The poor farmer will be able to benefit from fruit trees
