Project Characteristics and Results
Capacity - Building Component
The following capacity building activities will be carried out in project for Community Based Natural Resource Management (CBNMR):
1) Develop a participatory three dimensional map (P3DM)- Conduct a workshop for P3DM development.
2) Conduct 4 village level workshops for sensitizing and strengthening farmers on natural resource management.
3) Three trainings on agro forestry, aspects of production of shade loving cash crops (Cardamom and Passion fruit) and its agronomic practices.
4) Conduct 2 trainings for 20 women in piggery and poultry.
5) Conduct in-state exposure visits for women on micro credit Mgmt. at Khonoma village.
6) Conduct 4 workshop with village elders and functionaries of village institution to formulate village forest management plan and regulations
7) One study tour for 4 progressive farmers on agro forest management to Sikkim.
Gender Focus
The project would focus at maintaining gender equity in all spheres of development. Special attention and thrust would be given to the women SHGs by way of providing funds from the total budget.
Women in the village would become more capable in income generation and become skilled in thrift-savings particularly through piggery/poultry and selected annual crops.
