Reduction of carbon footprint by promoting non motorized transport in Kalamoon University
Climate change mitigation and adaptation has become a noble aim for societies and organization. The air pollution in the university of Kalamoon site as well as the city of Deratiah mostly comes from motorized vehicles. Kalanmoon non motorized transportation project is a pilot project that will providing the knowledge and the infrastructure required to run the system. The project main goal is to reduce the carbon footprint and improve the environment of the university campus through sustainable urban planning practices. The project will cover 500 Hectars of university campus by connecting main services, centers, faculties, university headquarters, mall shopping center and students dormitories. There will be parking stations and a network of 0roads.
The project has phases , phase one will cover the university campus, while the phase two will extend the project to cover the whole city of deratiah pending availability of funds.

introduction of low cost tranpsrtation means with further facilitate transportation and will offer job opportunities such as maintenance workshops and training. This will be more obvious during the second stage of the project.
