RMI: Increase Local Biodiversity the Cultivation of a Community Garden
The project is to create a community garden with a diverse of locally grown produce to reduce reliance on imported food, increase community awareness on the negative environmental impactof relying on packaged foods and environmental advantages to be gained from increasing the biodiversity on the island, integrating the locally grown, non-indigenous produce into the local diet to improve community residents health by educating residents through workshops on produce usages, increase self-sufficiency and sustainability of the community by educating modern agriculturall practices, and increase generation of income for residents through improved knowledge of business methods to market the produce and employment.
