INCORPORATION OF AUTOMATED CONTROL SYSTEMS FOR BUILDING COOLING SYSTEMS
INCORPORATION OF AUTOMATED CONTROL SYSTEMS FOR BUILDING COOLING SYSTEMS
Project Location:Tehran(Lat/Long:35.710243-51.405029)
Project Background
Optimizing electricity usage in Central Cooling Systems in buildings is directly linked to fossil fuel gas consumption. The majority of country?s electricity production is produced from gas conversion in powerhouses with about 30% efficiency. Over usage of electrical energy in central cooling systems for buildings can be moderated resulting in up to 45% reduction in electricity usage by using modern control systems on the cooling systems. However, the unfamiliarity and lack of training for traditional servicemen is a bottle neck which this project aims to address as well as promotion of the automated control systems for automatic adjustment of the cooling requirements relevant to fluctuations in outside temperatures.

Project outputs include:
? Auditing buildings for energy usage of cooling systems before and after automated control system installations
? Education of 200 servicemen and linkage to the technical Servicemen Association
? Increase the usage of the automated control systems by collaboration with a private sector and injection of percentage of sales into the educational process
? Influence policy for reduction of energy consumption vs. power house capacity increases
? Educational material production for servicemen, policy makers and the public
? Demonstrate energy savings
