PROJECT FOR SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF UMBELUZI RIVER WATERS FOR MITIGATION OF LAND DEGRADATION, AND CONSERVATION OF BIODIVERSITY IN MAFUIANE LOCALITY, DISTRICT OF NAMAACHA, MAPUTO
project that aims to support local communities of Ingonine village, Zone G, in Mafuiane to contribute to the preservation of international waters, promote watershed management, limit land degradation and preserve part of the biodiversity of endemic flora and fauna of the Maputaland Centre of Endemism; it will adopt alternative sources for provision of fresh drinking water from Umbeluze River, to be channeled and used for drinking and farm irrigation around the village; part of degraded habitats will be rehabilitated and livelihoods will be improved through diversification of subsistence and household income generation activities.
