Empowering women through environment conservation initiatives at Mkuranga
Context:

Women empowerment is a key objective of the SGP operations. One way of facilitating women empowerment is through supporting women development initiatives. This project is submitted by a women group, which seeks to promote empowerment of its members through the following activities: (i) Beekeeping; (ii) Vegetable gardening; (iii) Tree planting.

It is anticipated that the proposed projects would generate income to reduce poverty among group members while contributing to the conservation of the environment in which they live.
