There are a lot of natural sites and unique species living there in danger because of increasing human interference with nature in today?s world. At the same time, numerous environmental actions are being taken to save and control those sites. With all its features, Lake Burdur is an example of such areas. The Project envisages that it is possible to carry out the environmental actions with bicycle much easier and without disturbing the living organisms and aims at using Lake Burdur as the pilot area.

Owing to its high maneuver capability, bicycles are not limited to commuting purposes, but can also be used in any kind of off-road activies. However, the concept of nature cyclism is still unknown to the most people in Turkey and thought to be infeasible.

The nature cyclism infrastructure to be prepared at Lake Burdur and promotion of the project will be the first and the biggest step into changing that widespread and incorrect impression. Besides, it will contribute to many Lake-related aspects including putting emphasis on the importance of the Lake and life forms it accomodates; re-establishment of the connection between the Lake and local people, and the promotion of eco-tourism.
