Achieving sustainable development and increasing farmers awareness in the environmental issues for growing thyme, sage, bee-keeping in the villages of Khan Younis.
The project aims at protecting the biodiversity of medicinal and aromatic plants, beehives farmers village in Khanyounis.and improving the socio-economic levels for 40 women farmers through planting thyme, sage, bee-keeping in the villages of Khan-Younis.
The project main activities are: prepare 40 dunumes to be planted with 96000 of thyme and sage herbs to produce (2400 kgm per dunum). Distribute 100 bee hives to 100 farmers (female) to produce (15 kg per one honey hives X 16$).
In addition to that increase the capacity building for 100 farmers through conducting 2 training courses of 30 hours in the villages of Khuzaa , Abassan, Abassan new and Bani Suhaila concern as growing thyme, sage and bee-keeping on biodiversity and agrobiodiversty conservation and how to improve the socio-economic situation related to the environment and biodiversity.
Conducting 15 hours specializes in growing thyme, sage and how to reduce using the chemical pesticides and hormones. and 15 hours in beekeeping and increasing the environmental awareness by holding 4 workshops for 200 farmers.
