A solar driven power plant was installed and connected to the electrical loads system in the AlQykab garden with an electrical power of 1.3 KW and energy production of 7KW per day as an annual rate .
Two stand alone photovoltaic lighting systems installed : These two systems provides another type of solar applications where the lighting units are operating autonomously without any connection to the main power plant. The energy generator for each of these units is a photovoltaic module 165 Watt, 12 Volt and contains all the regulating equipment.
Solar thermal reflector (solar cooker) : The locally produced solar reflector is a 1.5 m diameter, parabolic form and able to collect 2.5 kw of the solar thermal radiation. It could be used for educational purposes and boiling water as well as to make tea. It could be used also for cooking.
Two technicians on how to maintain the solar power plants ?those are friends ?schools employees who are responsible of maintenance and operation of the system in the garden.
In addition to that:
? The enhancement of environmental & educational process in the garden will increase the welling to visit the garden particularly among pupils in different areas in the West Bank. This is the first renewable energy system that could be used publicly for educational purposes.
? The education given in the garden facilitates the introduction of these environmental friendly systems to populations. To avoid high energy prices many people in the future could install such systems and so protect the environment from harmful Co2 emissions.

--300 teachers and students have participated in awareness raising training courses, on climate change and renewable energy applications.
