Modernizing of 5 carwashes in such ECO-carwashes in Gabrovo with solar supply of the electrical system and heating of the water
Justification
The present project deals with two major problems ? the high emissions of CO2 in the atmosphere and missing real examples and information about RES systems. As to the first problem there are 6 gigatons CO2 generated as a result of human actions per year while the Earth can recycle only 3. The rest accumulates in the atmosphere and increases the greenhouse effect. The use of ?green? electricity produced by RES will help to resolve this problem. However, only 14% of the energy in Europe comes from RES. As to the second problem, it is known that it is very difficult to explain to the community how exactly everyone could personally contribute to the use of RES instead common sources. The present project proposes a direct measure for reconstructing the old technologies in an existing carwash and introducing new ?green? technologies for establishing a new 5 eco carwash centers. It will diminish the emissions of CO2 in the atmosphere and cease the contamination of underground waters and nature. The carwash will be supplied with energy by photovoltaic cells, also solar heating water systems.
Location
The carwash centers will be situated on the territory of North Central Planning Region, Gabrovo district, Gabrovo municipality, Gabrovo city but will render services to customers from Sevlievo municipality and passing travelers. GPS coordinates start point - 42,885241/ 25,302951
Project Target Groups
Target groups that will benefit directly from the project realization:
- the owners of the carwash centers because of the diminished expenses for electricity and water
- all car and truck owners because of the achieved low cost price of the service for washing
Target groups that will benefit indirectly from the project realization:
- National Park ?Central Balkan? and Nature Park ?Bulgarka? ? they will be supported for the realization of the plan for managing and encouraging RES use and diminishing pollution
- the local community that will live in cleaner environment
- construction companies, investors, people, ?green? NGOs which can use this practice to multiply it.
Goal and expected impacts
The project goal is to diminish the emission of ??2 and other pollutants in the atmosphere above Gabrovo, remaining after the use of specific detergents by using RES and simultaneously achieving high energy effectiveness
Objectives and expected results
- To reconstruct a 5 ordinary car wash centers into an eco ones, which will diminish the emissions of CO2 in the atmosphere
- To demonstrate practical EE systems, materials, ?green? measures and solutions which will persuade the business and the community to apply and use them
Major activities
1. Developing of the time-table and individual plans for installation process for each from the 5 eco-carwash-centers
2 Installing the ?green? technologies for the eco carwash centers and development of movie and multimedia presentation guide ? Step by step ? how to multiply the experience
3. Promoting the newly introduced measures for EE and use of RES
4. Analysis of the achieved results from the point of view of environment protection and biodiversity protection, incl. economic analyses on cost-effectiveness
Sustainability
The financial sustainability of the project results is guaranteed because the carwash is a commercial site and will receive income from commercial activities. Since the EKO carwash centers will save from water and electricity the cost price of a washing will drop with 40% in summer and 20% in winter. The new price will be about 6-7 leva compared to the old one of 8-10 leva. Thus the lower price will attract more customers, the expected number is minimum 25 compared to the present number of 15. The income will get higher because of the lower cost price and the higher turnover.
