BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION INTERGRATED WITH SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOODS PROMOTION AROUND THE WONNEGIZI PROPOSED PROTECTED AREA NORTHERN LIBERIA
This Project will work with communities around the Wonegizi proposed protected area in Lofa County to combat the most critical environmental problems and demonstrated that supporting communities in their efforts to achieve more sustainable livelihoods is not only possible, but extremely important in bringing change and achieving global environmental benefits. It activities is multifocal and will promote transboundary conservation and sustainable use and management of biodiversity in Wonegizi ecosystems including agro biodiversity

Notable Community Participation
An in-depth consultation has already taken place, with discussions beginning in 2007 with community and stakeholders representative. This proposal has evolved as a direct result of that consultation process and a pre-project development visit which was undertaken from October by the NC.
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Knowledge transfer and capacity building based on personal involvement of local people are at the heart of this project and hence dissemination is an integral aspect of what is planned.
