"Sun for Zajezova"
Decrease of greenhouse gas emissions by implementation of energy efficiency measures (insulation) as well as through the use of renewable sources of energy illustrated on a practical example - installation of photovoltaic panels on the Environmental Educational Centre ?ivica. In addition, the project will build environmental awareness on climate changes, its implications and possible solutions through organisation of interactive trainings in Education Centre Zajezova.

Project Characteristics and Results
Inovative Financial Mechanisms
Earnings gained from selling the energy generated by photovoltaic panels will allow change of windows at local school.
Decisions on all earnings gained by the project are made in cooperation with local community. The major criterion is support of nonprofit activities focused on enhancing life of local community or protection of environment.
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
Environmental Education Centre in Zaje?ová is located in the countryside with very low density of houses. Therefore it provides great employment opportunities for local people, ie. maintenance, cooking and training positions within the Centre.
Interior of the Centre is already built, but by putting insulation on the walls and photovoltaic panels on the roof will allow for higher economic efficiency of the Centre - lower energy running costs and increased income from selling the energy generated.
When contracting services, the grantee primarily hires local people and offers short-term working positions for construction works.
