Innovative Construction of Reservoirs to Capture and Storage of Rainwater on the Planalto Norte
This project will respond to one of the main problems in the Chã de Feijoa, Santo Antão Island, which is availability of water for farmers and herders. Lack of water has been major factor for poverty in the region. Therefore, responding to this need will improve livelihood options for the farmers and their community. Three reservoirs of 120 m3 each, to capture rain water will be constructed by community members. This will enable them to have access to water for small plots of agriculture land, but mostly for goats (milk and cheese production), a major source of income for the community.
